FLIGHT PLAN / PHASE 2

From an abstract sky
to a working city.

The programme follows the questions the experiments expose. A closed campaign can leave its central safety question unresolved.

  1. PHASE 1 / CLOSED

    Map the abstract sky.

268 cycles investigating the operating envelope, delay-aware control, emergency priority and ordinary losses. Closed on 23 September 2026.

  2. VEHICLE MODELS

    Give craft their differences.

Eight classes with individual agility, link quality and rigidity. Legacy behaviour preserved with the additions disabled.

    Vehicle model and assumptions ↗
  3. CITY OPERATIONS / OPEN

    Make the city work.

On-demand tasks, craft allocation, authority flight plans and a first comparison of central planning against the onboard rule.

CITY / INTEGRATED CYCLE 41

Speed-matching between height levels

Re-flying craft lost to walls with only their own speed-matching push taken away saves about half on the worst tier and nearly all on the better one, on new layouts too. On the worst tier the rest is mostly the craft’s sideways dodge away from other-level craft: with both moves taken away about 96 in 100 are saved, passing closer to other-level craft without contact. Provisional; nothing adopted. Should the default change, and should removing that dodge be tested as a setting, with own-height error?

CRAFT / INTEGRATED CYCLE 40

Landing under disturbance

A quicker hauler cuts bad landings from 47 to about 5 per 100 under gusts and turbulence; quick autopilot planning alone on the slow machine halves them, to 23.5. For arrivals held waiting, the plan does worse when the model starts them from a standstill and better when they are released like other arrivals (47 to 27 bad landings per 100); on eleven chosen cases the release speed decides the ending. Provisional; nothing adopted. Should a release setting for held arrivals be built and measured, why does the margin-only planning lose haulers on the way in, and what is a real six-tonne hauler’s response time?

OPS / INTEGRATED CYCLE 3

Authority and task delivery

How do reservations change delivery completion, congestion and the performance of onboard avoidance?
